#03 Mathias Crestani for FLAT shop Spotify Playlist

For episode 3 of our playlist series, we're excited to present a musical selection curated by Mathias Crestani. Mathias is a long-time friend and a fashion industry insider with over 30 years of experience in streetwear distribution.

Back in 2008, we teamed up to create Bottomsfly, a one-night event that brought disco, funk, italo disco, early house, and '80s dance music to the alternative scene in Macerata, with DJ Chiskee from Perugia joining us initially. Mathias's passion for music and his extensive vinyl collection were key to the success of this event, which left a lasting impact before the pandemic changed everything.

For this new playlist, Mathias has selected a broad range of sounds that capture the same eclectic energy of Bottomsfly. The selection features tracks like "This Place" by Mali-I featuring Natty Wylah, bringing a touch of UK alternative hip hop, and "I'm Ready for Dancing" by Ronald Langestraat, with its soulful jazz groove that instantly transports you to a retro atmosphere. "Pleasure" by General Lee adds a nostalgic note, while "Danger" by Pylon brings an experimental rock energy. Finally, "Fiction" by Philippe Chany, with its French soundtrack vibe, elegantly wraps up the set.
